On March 31, 2022, a press day was held in Schwandorf, (Bavaria, Germany) to mark the successful conclusion of the AI Transfer Plus project. IFTA was one of the first of six companies to participate in the research project on artificial intelligence. The Bavarian Minister of State for Digital Affairs, Ms. Judith Gerlach, informed herself about the positive project progress with our Dr. Hermann.
Artificial intelligence for monitoring gas turbines
IFTA investigated the use of AI for predictive maintenance of gas turbines. The Artificial Intelligence IFTA developed as part of the project is used to monitor dangerous combustion dynamics that can disturb the operation of gas turbines or even cause severe damage. By including the gas turbines' operating information and a comprehensive evaluation of the sensor data, much more precise statements can be made about the machine's condition. Compared to previous systems, our new solution allows both more comprehensive and more reliable monitoring as well as earlier detection of harmful vibrations. This means that early action can prevent an emergency shutdown and the associated high costs.
the Project KI-Transfer Plus
KI-Transfer Plus is a unique pilot program in Germany that has been running since 2021 as part of a research study on behalf of the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs. Within the scope of this project local regional AI centers support companies in the introduction of Artificial Intelligence - from vision development to integration into a product.
