Nowadays, very high demands are placed on measurement technology, in particular vibration measurement technology. The precision and the right timing determine the safety of plants and systems. One essential component of the systems are the sensors. In forms of pressure, acceleration, strain and temperature sensors, they provide the entire information flow for subsequent analyses. However, most vibration measuring instruments currently require a separate input module for each type of sensor, as well as suitable charge amplifiers and power supplies. Normally, the measurements involve different measured variables under different ambient conditions requiring different sensor types and therefore many input modules. In addition, the manual configuration of all external components and the individual modules poses challenges to the operators of the measurement systems.

Inflexible input modules - i.e. input modules that are specialized for specific sensor types - have an enormous potential to generate unnecessarily large costs and effort. In the worst case, simple measurements require a large number of different input modules. However, each individual input module causes acquisition costs, which also includes the high costs for the right accessories, such as the right charge amplifier.
Furthermore, an exact configuration of the input modules and all upstream components is essential for precise results of the measurement systems. Each additional component is a possible source of error and there is a danger that costly measurement series are falsified or worthless.

The IfTA AD4Pro input module combines a variety of necessary functionalities in a single module. The 4-channel input module is equipped with FleXense technology. FleXense means that voltage measurement, current measurement, charge amplifier, pre-amplifier and bridge circuits, as well as IEPE supply are already included in each input. This saves costs for acquisition and maintenance and guarantees an uncomplicated sensor change for service applications or other applications with changing sensor setup.
In conjunction with our IfTA ArgusOMDS and DynaMaster system solutions, all vibration measurement tasks can be mastered. A central configuration in combination with stored measurement setups prevents costly errors.
