Argus Host
thumb_argushost_1.jpgArgus Host software provides an interface between the DSP, on which the actual specialist application runs, and the Argus Host PC from which subsequent distribution of data via network and saving on a suitable storage medium is then performed. Alongside this basic function, Argus Host also offers digital I/O options for recording low-frequency data and for communicating with other data sources which can be accessed via the network.

All data recorded by Argus Host can be compressed by Argus Host according to the user-dependent configuration. This is done by "pre-processing modules" which group data in units of time, and either save the data at a reduced data rate or distribute the data across the network. This makes it possible, for example, for oscillation data to be transmitted via a slow modem link to a remote workstation on which Argus Online software is running for online display of data, or for data to be saved over a very long period of time. In the event of special events occurring, e.g. a sudden rise in oscillation amplitudes, the data rate is able to increase automatically in response to an appropriately configured trigger. To provide some degree of history before and after this event, Argus Host has appropriate pre- and post-trigger capability. In total, Argus Host provides eight independent pre-processing modules.

With the TCP/IP protocol as a network interface, data can be transmitted via the internet, making worldwide access possible.
