Order developments
Depending on conditions, parameters and commercial considerations, we work on customer-specific solutions to prevent combustion oscillations in a targeted manner. The solutions can include passive as well as active measures.

Passive solution

In the context of passive remedies, the existing combustion system is modified through construction measures in such a way that combustion oscillations are either suppressed or are prevented altogether.

Depending on the individual problem, we can offer the following services:

  • Passive damper design

  • Development of new kinds of damping elements

  • Devising targeted design measures (detuning the system)

  • Devising measures to influence flow conditions

  • Targeted change in operating point

Active solution

Systems for active suppression of combustion oscillations (Active Instability Control = AIC) offer scope not available with passive measures, i.e.:
  • across the complete operating range,

  • without significant construction intervention and/or

  • with complex vibration problems, e.g. across several frequencies,

targeted, efficient and cost-effective prevention of combustion oscillations can be achieved.

As the world's leading manufacturer of control systems for this innovative technology, we offer customized solutions extending right up to full implementation and commissioning of this technology. Our engineering services in this segment include:

  • Selection of suitable sensors and their positioning

  • Design and configuration of suitable actuators or, where necessary, also the new development of such actuators

  • Adaptation of our active control system Argus AIC to remedy customer problems, with subsequent commissioning of same on customer sites
